My approach to therapy is structured with warmth and validation. I believe therapy should be a balance of feeling challenged, but also feeling safe and understood.

If you're looking for a therapist who will let you vent for 50 minutes once a week, I'm not your girl. I will be your biggest supporter and be committed to your growth, so I instill a lot of structure in my sessions and use evidence-based interventions to help you succeed.

Exactly how therapy looks will depend on what best fits each person. I will work collaboratively with you to decide which treatment modality is best and help you define goals to guide you to a place of inner peace.

I primarily use EMDR in my practice and work with those experiencing depression or anxiety or who've experienced traumatic or negative life experiences.

Helping people resolve their past and become more confident versions of themselves gives me deep gratitude.

EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND

I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University in 2016 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas. I also hold two Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. In my career, I've worked in various settings and populations. I started my experience counseling adolescents at Brazos County and Harris County Juvenile Detention Centers and undergraduate students at Sam Houston State. For several years I was the primary therapist for children, adolescents, and their families at a community mental health center. This is where I found my passion and developed skills in treating trauma, depression, and anxiety. I also worked as a counselor for a mobile crisis team and served on a high-acuity team, counseling those with severe mental illnesses.

I started my private practice in 2020 and continue to do so on a part-time basis while serving as a Clinical Director at an outpatient mental health center, supervising other therapists and overseeing program implementation and quality.  I am Certified in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and have been primarily using this modality since 2019. In my practice, I also incorporate other "bottom-up" therapy modalities such as somatic-experiencing and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Additionally, I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT).
