MOVE BEYOND YOUR PAST WITH JAMIE

It's my belief that therapy should feel challenging, while maintaining a sense of safety and validation. My approach to therapy is structured with warmth and validation.

Exactly how therapy looks will depend on what best fits each person. I will work collaboratively with you to decide which treatment modality is best and help you define goals to guide you to a place of inner peace.

I primarily use CBT and EMDR in my practice and work with those experiencing depression or anxiety or who've experienced traumatic or negative life experiences.

JAMIE'S EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND

I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. In my career I've worked with adolescents at Brazos County and Harris County Juvenile Detention Centers and undergraduate students at Sam Houston State. For several years I was the primary therapist for children, adolescents and their families at a community mental health center. This is where I found my passion and developed skills in treating trauma, depression, and anxiety. I have additional experience as a counselor for a mobile crisis team and a case manager for those with severe mental illnesses. I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT), and EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I am enhancing my knowledge and skills in EMDR and in the process of becoming a certified EMDR therapist.
